Biographical details

After finishing my studies at the Unviersity of Paris XI in Cell and Molecular Biology (Bachelor) and at the University of Bordeaux in Plant Biology and Biotechnology (Master), I joined the INRA Fruit biology and Pathology laboratory (Bordeaux, France) to start a PhD in Molecular Plant Virology in 2015. This work aimed at understanding the determinants of the RNA-virus adaptation and have permitted to establish for the first time to link a newly-characterized biochemical features - the protein intrinsic disorder - to a in vivo natural RNA-virus adaptive process.

After completing this PhD, I pursued a one-year postdoc experience in Axel Innis's group (CNRS/INSERM, Bordeaux, France) to extend my knowledge to the new technological advances in structural biochemistry. I contributed in the development of high-throughput molecular approaches to identify new promising antibiotic candidates.

I am now part of the Edward C. Holmes's group as a Postdoctoral researcher to study the virosphere in some overlooked area of the Eukaryota world. By using meta-transcriptomics technics, I investigate the viral diversity in various Protist species and try to link these new discoveries to the evolutive history of RNA viruses.

- Teaching assistant in Microbiology at the University of Bordeaux, France (2013-2014)

- Supervision and co-supervision of honours and undergrad students during my PhD and postdoc (2013-2016)

Current projects

As a new postdoc reasearcher in Edward C. Holmes group, I am participating to the exciting exploration of the viral dark matter through the intensive use of meta-transcriptomic approaches on living organisms overlooked so far. More specifically, the aim of my research is to explore the diversity of RNA viruses that infect unicellular Eukaryota (Protists) and among them, the so fascinating microalgae.
