Biographical details

Yuzhou (Thomas) Wu is a Postdoctoral Research Associate working in the Laboratory of A/Prof. Marcus Heisler at the University of Sydney. Yuzhou came to Australia in 2009 as a B. Biotech student at the University of Newcastle, where he joined the Laboratory of A/Prof. David McCurdy in the Centre for Plant Science for a placement project in 2011. He then continued his research in plant transfer cell biology in the same laboratory and received the Honours and PhD degrees in the years of 2012 and 2017, respectively. After a short appointment as Laboratory Assistant in Newcastle, Yuzhou moved to Sydney in 2018 and joined the Marcus Heisler Laboratory in SOLES as a Postdoctoral Research Associate.

Current projects

Currently Dr Wu’s research focus is to understand how genes involved in leaf dorsoventrality regulate leaf positioning, morphogenesis and cell type patterning, using model plant species Arabidopsis thaliana.
