When we are mentally and physically healthy we can fully enjoy and appreciate our day-to-day life, environment and relationships, as well as deal with life’s challenges.

Here you can find a range of information and resources to help you keep yourself healthy while at university. From common mental health issues and support contacts, to mindfulness and general health tips, these pages are designed to help you support yourself and others.

Seeking help

  • Counselling & Psychological Services – offers free counselling services and workshops for undergraduate and postgraduate students at the University of Sydney.
  • University Health Service – offers bulk billing and OSHC medical services with general practitioners (doctors) and nurses for University students and staff.
  • Ally network and LGBTIQ support – a trained group of staff and students who support and advocate on behalf of everyone who identifies as LGBTIQ.

Community support

  • Headspace – has online and telephone services for young people 12-25 years.
  • beyondblue – has a wide range of information and resources about mental health, including online forums and a 24-hour phone service.
  • Black Dog Institute – has practical resources to help you as well as services you can access.
  • ReachOut - offers practical tools and support to help young people get through everything from everyday issues to tough times.
