Enrolling in your units
At your host institution
You’ll need to follow the advice of your host institution on how to enrol in host subjects.
You can enrol in host subjects before Sydney has approved them. However, your subjects need to be approved by Sydney before your host institution’s last day to change enrolment.
If you’re still waiting for some of your subjects to be approved by Sydney and it’s two weeks before the date that you can no longer change your host subjects, you need to contact us.
Confirming your units and making changes
If you're on semester, year-long or short-term exchange you will need to confirm with us the units you're enrolled in at your host institution.
You should only do this once you've enrolled in these units. We will send you an email with instructions on how to do this.
If you make any changes to your units you will need to reapply for academic approval.
University of Sydney enrolment
You should complete your semester enrolment as you would usually through Sydney Student.
At unit of study selection, you should select units as if you were doing your usual semester of study at Sydney University. Once our deadline for the last day to add has passed, we will then change your units to generic ‘exchange units’ or shell units. We will do this based on the host subjects you told us you were enrolled in.
If you update your host subjects after the last day to add a unit of study, we will review your shell units after we’ve received your host transcript.
You’ll need to enrol at Sydney for any unit you’ll study here, as per normal. Don’t enrol in units at Sydney that you intend taking on exchange.
Once our deadline for the last day to add has passed, we’ll enrol you into shell units for your exchange program.
