We recommend you start planning your application at least 12 months before you would like to go on exchange. This gives you enough time to research your options thoroughly, and get the advice you need before applying. You need to lodge your application before the relevant deadline.
On campus information and drop-in advising sessions will help you understand whether you are eligible, where you can go and how to apply. Sessions are run by the Sydney Abroad advisors throughout the semester. There are also sessions run by partners including overseas embassies/consulates and international universities. We also offer online resources and online sessions.

Your mobility window is the time in your degree that is most ideal to study overseas. So it’s important that you understand the requirements and structure of your course (and major(s)) so that you can work out the best time to go overseas. For many students, the semester or year in your course with the most flexibility is your mobility window.
