You may be able to join us through an alternative entry scheme, a direct-entry English course or foundation program. Or, if eligible, you could transfer courses or defer.
We offer a number of alternative pathways for domestic undergraduate applicants who wish to have additional factors taken into account alongside their academic results.
Domestic students are welcome to apply for a transfer to the University of Sydney at any point during their studies at another Australian university.
If you’re unable to meet the minimum academic requirements for undergraduate study as an international student, the Foundation Program could be your ticket to the University of Sydney.
If you've decided you'd like to change what you're studying at the University of Sydney, you may be able to transfer to a different degree.
Depending on your course, you may have the option to defer your offer for up to one year. This means we’ll hold a place for you to enrol in your course the following semester or year.
If English is not your first language, consider enrolling in a pathways program with the Centre for English Teaching. The centre's courses will equip you with the language and learning skills you need to succeed.
For plenty of our students, university is one of many commitments. Whether you’re balancing work, family or life in general, many of our programs of study can be tailored to fit around your schedule.
