Student bursaries

Money issues weighing you down? We can help you stay afloat

We provide bursaries to eligible domestic, undergraduate students, to help cover the costs of living and studying.

What is a bursary?

A bursary is a type of scholarship awarded on the basis of financial need, designed to help cover essential living and study expenses. Bursaries cannot be used to fund overseas travel or tuition fees.

They are set up as trusts established by private benefactors and the University.

You don’t have to repay the money, but we encourage recipients to make a donation to the University later to support future bursaries (once they have graduated and found employment). This will help to ensure the ongoing availability of financial support to prospective students.

Visit the Student website to find out if you are eligible for a bursary and how to apply.

You are eligible to apply if you are:

  • a full-time student
  • an Australian citizen or permanent resident
  • making satisfactory academic progress
  • experiencing financial difficulty.
