Biodiversity, conservation, and culture: meet and greet

Please join the Sydney Environment Institute for a meet and greet among biodiversity researchers.

Biodiversity, Conservation, and Culture” is one of the core research themes of the Sydney Environment Institute. As with other pressing environmental challenges, addressing the biodiversity crisis requires multidisciplinary approaches that bring the insights of the natural sciences into dialogue with the social sciences, humanities, creative arts, law, business, and the deep knowledge and committed action of local communities, including First Nations peoples.

Please note, this is a USyd staff and student only event.

The event

This “meet and greet” session aims to foster multidisciplinary understanding and collaboration among biodiversity researchers at the University of Sydney.

Who is this open to?

It is open to all University staff and postgraduate students with an existing or potential interest in biodiversity research that works across the STEM/HASS divide.

What will happen?

In an effort to get to know one another and unearth possible collaborative opportunities, this event will take the form of a series of five-minute introductions showcasing current or planned biodiversity research, followed by a facilitated group discussion, and then informal drinks. Participants are in no way required to already be conducting multidisciplinary biodiversity research in order to take part. All that is needed is an interest in the topic and in learning more about opportunities in this area.

Please join us for drinks afterwards in the Courtyard Cafe, 3-4pm.
