Creative collaborations for lasting policy change
We have transformed research collaboration – opening up space to people from all walks of life to join together in order to tackle policy challenges alongside University researchers.

The Sydney Policy Lab is at the forefront of combating local and global policy challenges – from inequality to the future of democratic politics. We innovate, discover and test solutions in a non-partisan space.

Change doesn’t come from conventional methods, which is why we aim to create unconventional collaborations. We build dynamic and creative partnerships between policy specialists, advocates, organisers and influencers from all backgrounds across the community – connecting them with the University of Sydney’s brightest researchers.

The Sydney Policy Lab believes that by connecting researchers with practitioners, we can generate lasting policy change that benefits people in our city, our country and our world.

Our research is currently focused on three thematic priorities – belonging, equality and power and is conducted in an experimental, non-partisan space. This ensures that our work is robust and independent. Find out more about our current research.

To inspire transformational change, we offer generous grants and partnerships to University researchers and others who are involved in social change.
