Improvised Ensemble 6 is a weekly group improvisation session, where the techniques of Rhythm Fundaments and Electro-acoustic improvised music are practically developed in the unit. An ensemble is creatively formed with the objectives to perform and record new improvised music as a band.

At the completion of this unit, you should be able to:

  • LO1. Improvise in solo, duo, trio and large ensemble formats
  • LO2. Create processes for improvisation using celarly defined material, structures and locations.
  • LO3. Lead and direct an improvising ensemble
  • LO4. Work as an active participant in a collaborative, group-based creative process
