INMS4111: Indonesian Studies Honours Thesis 1
2025 unit information
In this unit you begin a substantial, independent research project in Indonesian Studies. Regular meetings with a supervisor approved by the Indonesian Studies Honours Coordinator will guide your progress. You will develop a plan for researching and writing the thesis, submit an ethics application if appropriate, familiarize yourself with disciplinary conventions and standards, engage with relevant literature, theories and methodologies, and submit drafts at agreed times.

At the completion of this unit, you should be able to:
- LO1. Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of Indonesian societies and the ability to interrogate issues pertaining to society, education, history, and politics articulately and persuasively.
- LO2. Demonstrate the ability to conduct independent and original research within the field of Indonesian Studies.
- LO3. Demonstrate intercultural competence and the ability to use and interpret research material obtained from diverse sources and linguistic environments.
- LO4. Demonstrate critical thinking, information and digital literacy, and the ability to exercise ethical judgments.
- LO5. Demonstrate advanced knowledge of Indonesian culture, history or societies within the broader field of Asian Studies.
