From a person and consumer care perspective, the responses of individuals and their families to an acute deterioration in health will be explored. The content of this unit relates to medical-surgical nursing and focuses on the themes of disruptions to health, the impact of illness and surgery, and the process of nursing care especially in the peri-operative phase for individuals and their families.
