In this unit, students will participate in various learning activities to continue to develop foundational knowledge and skills needed for dental practice. Concepts of digital health systems, record keeping, consent and respect for privacy /confidentiality as applicable to clinical practice are introduced in the context of the regulatory framework of the health workforce in Australia. The unit continues a program of learning in the oral and systemic biosciences. Students continue development of knowledge and skills in tooth restoration, endodontics, periodontics, radiography and prosthetics in simulation and laboratory settings and local anaesthesia and oral surgery are added. Further experience in clinical settings fosters engagement with the patient interview, dental examination and assessment, and the codesign of treatment plans in simulated cases.
