In this unit, students will participate in a project relevant to dentistry. The DMD project fosters the development of skills in engagement, scholarship and research as students plan and execute a substantial research-based or professional project. Students will use disciplinary understanding and communication skills to design, evaluate, implement, analyse and theorise about developments that contribute to professional practice thus demonstrating the achievement of AQF Level 9. Some projects will be experimental in nature, others may involve critical review of clinical questions, education scholarship or policy and community or industry engagement projects. The DMD project is undertaken across two semesters of enrolment, in two successive Units of Study of 6 credits points each. DMD Project 1 starts with development of a research/project proposal. This unit, DMD Project 2 includes progress review and submission of a final report.
