2024 unit information
This course builds a basis for the acquisition of research skills in an area of relevance to surgical practice. The student will demonstrate skills of writing and communication research including developing an ability to translate research to a lay audience. This unit will culminate in the submission of a research dissertation.

At the completion of this unit, you should be able to:
- LO1. Demonstrate how to formulate a research question to address a gap in the current literature
- LO2. Discuss how to perform a literature review and how to conduct a systematic review
- LO3. Consider data required for your project and ethics requirements
- LO4. Consider the methodological plan required to answer your research question
- LO5. Determine the statistics required to answer the research question
