Competing Visions in the Muslim World: Rebuilding States and Reinvigorating Civil Societies
From 10 June, 2013 to 12 June, 2013
This international symposium will focus on the political sandstorms unleashed by the ongoing popular uprisings in the Middle East and beyond. Religion, far from being sidelined, has become integral to the very conversation of how democracy, citizenship, gender and social justice can be embedded within an inclusive or wasatiyyah (middle way) discourse that is rooted in the cultural sensibilities of the masses.
