| Profile of yourself | Luke Deer completed his honours in political science at the Australian National University. At the University of Sydney, he has taught in wide range of units in the Department of Government and International Relations, including international political economy. He has also been a visiting researcher in the School of Economics at Fudan University in Shanghai, China. |

| Information about your thesis | This study analyses the international political economy of China's foreign exchange accumulation with a focus on the objectives and policies of Chinese monetary authorities. This study's theoretical context is the tension between the growth of globally integrated capital accumulation within China, including China’s official financial sector’s integration with United States financial markets, and China’s ongoing foreign exchange and capital controls. |
