Peter is 46. He grew up in Melbourne and moved to Sydney about 25 years ago. He did a BA(Hons) in History at UNSW about ten years ago. He teaches English and has lived in Vietnam and Russia. He’s been a postman, worked in factories, warehouses and worked for Social Security at one stage. He lived in Krasnoyarsk, Siberia, for about two and a half years, hence his interest in the thesis topic |

The KrAZ plant is a huge aluminium factory in central Siberia. Peter would like to look at how the privatisation of the plant affected the lives of those who worked there and look at how the workers felt about and coped with other changes in Russian society in the post-Soviet period. |
