Thesis abstract:
The focus of my doctoral research is to examine and contextualise the literary, philosophical and ideological foundations of women educators of the seventeenth and early eighteenth century in England, particularly those who published and implemented innovative educational pedagogies and advocated the reform of education in either the private domestic sphere or the broader public domain.
