Student Placements

The Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, through a wide range of academic programs, offers units of study for academic credit which involve a student placement-as an internship or work experience or a project-based opportunity-with an external organisation.

A student placement is a planned, supervised experience applying your skills in the workplace that will enhance your academic learning.

A student placement enables the direct application of your skills in critical thinking, research, analysis, written and oral communication, problem solving and disciplinary knowledge to real-world problems in the workplace. You will gain invaluable experience while applying the skills and knowledge gained through your academic studies and earning academic credit towards your degree.

These are some examples of student placement opportunities for FASS students:

Opportunities for a student placement within a unit of study will depend on the studies for your degree. In many cases, the opportunity for a student placement occurs towards the end of your studies.

The Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences is continually developing new opportunities for student placements.

Please contact the relevant departmental UG or PG Co-ordinator for further information about the possible opportunities for a student placement as part of your academic studies.
