Welcome to 'Get Prepared'!

Welcome: In this video, the Get Prepared student team welcome you to the site.

Thinking about university? Just started? Supporting a new university student?

If these questions speak to you, we invite you to use the Get Prepared site to learn about university life and culture, study expectations, available support services, and more!

For students, the first two modules are here to help you learn about the University of Sydney, your place there and how you can thrive. For parents, carers, families, and communities, the third module will help you support students as they start their university journey.

Every big journey starts with a single step. These modules are your first steps to get prepared for your journey to, through and beyond university.

The Get Prepared site contains two student modules (orange) and one parent, carer and family module (blue).

You can complete these modules at any time and in any order. Each module has a variety of resources, activities, videos, and information and should take less than twenty minutes to finish.

To get started, click on the first-page link in the columns below. Once there, you can navigate between pages by clicking the page buttons or using the arrows at the bottom of the page.

Acknowledgement of Country

We acknowledge the tradition of custodianship and law of the Country on which the University of Sydney campuses stand. We pay our respects to those who have cared and continue to care for Country.

You may see many events at the University begin with a message similar to this, which is called an Acknowledgement of Country. This message can be delivered by an Indigenous or non-Indigenous person not from that Country (Gadigal Country, for example).

A Welcome to Country, which is given by an Indigenous person on their Country, is performed in this video:

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander users of the Get Prepared site are advised that these modules contain images and voices of people who have died.
