What is a student campus card?

Your University of Sydney Student Campus Card is your University ID card. You need to carry your card with you at all times while you are on campus and display it when you sit formal examinations.

Why do I need a student campus card?

Your card identifies you as a student of the University of Sydney.

You can also use it for:

  • travel concessions (subject to eligibility)
  • borrowing library books
  • student discounts
  • access to buildings (with faculty approval).

Your University of Sydney Student Campus Card is not valid if mutilated, defaced or damaged.

Optional Visa prepaid payment functionality

Your Student Campus Card also contains Visa prepaid payment functionality powered by ANZ. Activating this function is optional and not activating will not impact on the primary purpose of your card.

Activating the prepaid payment functionality allows you to use your card at any merchant or wherever Visa is accepted electronically*.

You can load your own money securely and use it to make purchases both on and off-campus.

If you activate the Visa prepaid payment functionality on your card and then change your mind, you can opt out at any time using the
Non Financial Student Card application process.

* Please note at present the Woolworths group are declining to accept any Visa or MasterCard prepaid cards, including this card. For the full list of Woolworth’s Group members see the 'Trouble using your card' section of the FAQs at www.anz.com/prepaidcards

Deactivating the optional Visa prepaid payment functionality

If you have activated the Visa prepaid payment functionality on your card and now want to deactivate it, please use the Non Financial Student Card application process.

What do I do if I want a Student Campus Card without the Visa and ANZ logo?

You may also choose to have a Student Campus Card without the Visa and ANZ logos. If you choose this option please follow the Non Financial Student Card application process.

Please note that you will no longer be able to use the Visa prepaid payment functionality on your card.
