CAPS and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Students
Counselling and Psychological Services (CAPS) acknowledge and pay respect to the traditional owners of the land on which we are based – the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation.
CAPS is committed to providing culturally sensitive counselling and psychological services for all students at the University of Sydney. Please also see our statement on cultural sensitivity. CAPS counsellors have also undertaken training in cultural awareness provided by the University of Sydney's Koori Centre. CAPS works closely with the Koori Centre and is located beside the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Student Support offices on Camperdown campus.
If you would like to see a counsellor at CAPS and are attending the university on a block study program we understand that your time on campus is very limited. Please let reception know this when you call or drop- in in order to help us arrange a time that is suitable for you.
For details of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander specific services providing counselling support please refer to the directory of Social and Emotional Wellbeing and Mental Health Services in Aboriginal Australia.
