Research project - Analysis of the interaction between Creep and Shrinkage

By use of experimental investigations, this research will clarify the differentiation of creep and shrinkage effects with regard to the effects of specimen sizes and loading conditions (e.g., bending or axial loading). In particular moisture diffusion, differential shrinkage strains, creep and cracking (and eigenstresses) will be evaluated in further numerical models. Moreover, a further investigation will be carried out in order to obtain reliable predictions of creep and shrinkage effects for "full-scale" concrete structures.
