Deposit fee
The deposit fee is the amount of money required to secure your place at the University of Sydney. It consists of one semester's fees plus compulsory subscriptions. The semester fee is indicative and the exact fee will depend on the specific units of study in which you enrol.

Health cover
The Australian government requires students holding an Australian Student Visa to have appropriate health insurance through an approved Australian provider of the Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) scheme for the duration of their visa. If you do not already have valid OSHC, the University can schedule your OHSC through the University preferred provider Worldcare Assist. Applicants who intend to apply for their student visa overseas and wish to have OSHC scheduled by the University should include the OSHC paument with oyour deposit fees. You can nominate to have OSHC scheduled for you in the web acceptance process. OSHC provides free access to the University health service and public hospitals. Waiting periods apply for some health treatments. Higher level coverage (e.g. access to private hospitals, or coverage for spouse and family) is available via Worldcare Assist.
Applicants renewing their student visa in Australia are responsible for renewing their own OSHC and maintaining this cover for the duration of their degree.
Membership of a health insurance scheme in your home country does not exempt you from paying OSHC. Only Swedish students covered by SKANDIA and Norwegian students covered by the National Norwegian Insurance Scheme are exempt from paying the OSHC as a result of inter-governmental arrangements.
Refund policy
Students who have accepted a UAC offer will be eligible for a 100% refund if they are successful in gaining another offer through UAC in a later round. This does not apply to any student who applies direct to an institution, who will be subject to the standard University of Sydney Refund Policy.
