What We Do

The Koori Centre is a culturally safe space for all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
The Koori Centre provides facilities to encourage and support the involvement of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders in all aspects of tertiary education at the University of Sydney.

The majority of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, who are new to university study, find the experience very exciting but sometimes overwhelming. Many of our students enroll in courses with an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspective to feel a sense of familiarity and belonging. The Koori Centre recognises this and especially welcomes and encourages Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students to enroll in courses offered at the University of Sydney.

The Centre provides access to computers, an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Research Library and study space for the use of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.

Please note:
There are no longer any courses facilitated by staff at the Koori Centre, all courses previously facilitated by 'The Koori Centre' have been moved to mainstream faculties.
