Postgraduate Research Opportunities
Postgraduate research training is available in the Discipline of Biomedical Science through the Sydney Medical School. Our postgraduate research program supports the postgraduate research degrees Master of Philosophy (MPhil) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD).
- Specialist supervision is available in a number of fields including musculoskeletal anatomy, neuroscience, cardiopulmonary physiology, chemistry, biochemistry, molecular biology, microbiology, Alzheimer’s disease, occupational health issues related to orchestral music and intervention, and teaching and learning. These reflect the origin of the Discipline and its changing academic profile.
- The Discipline excels in research on diagnosis and treatment of shoulder dysfunction, development of metal-based anticancer drugs and strategies to overcome drug resistance, vision science, occupational injury related to orchestral music and intervention, muscle reflexes and tremor, Alzheimer’s disease, birth defects, and microbiology.
