University of Sydney Library

The University of Sydney Library holds one of the largest collections of print and electronic resources in Australia and consists of a network of libraries covering the full range of medical, health and other disciplines. Its collection of electronic resources extends and complements those available through CIAP.

University of Sydney Academic title holders and Honorary staff are entitled to full borrowing privileges, including from all branch libraries, document delivery, interlibrary loans and inter-campus article requests, as well as access to electronic journals, databases and other resources. See the main website http://www.library.usyd.edu.au/ for the full range of resources available.

How to apply for borrowing privileges

How to apply for borrowing privileges
An application form is available at:
http://www.library.usyd.edu.au/borrowing/cards.html#honorarystaffusyd

It is not necessary to attend in person to lodge the completed application, although a photo is required. This can be done by email if you have a digital photograph, together with a scanned copy of the completed form, or by mail or in person at any University of Sydney Library, with a passport sized photograph.

Library membership continues for the duration of your appointment, but may need to be renewed when your appointment is renewed.

How to access electronic resources

Off campus (for example from home), your library borrower number or UniKey (see below) will give you access to almost all of the Library’s electronic resources as if you were on campus.

See http://www.library.usyd.edu.au/databases/wam.html for instructions on how to access resources from off campus.
