RECENT SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
Sydney Nursing School and University of Sydney scholarships
There are a number of Sydney Nursing School scholarships which are in the main, based on merit. All students will be eligible for consideration, and your academic results will be accessed at the beginning of Semester 1 each year, to determine the successful scholarship recipients. The University of Sydney also offers a large number of scholarships to undergraduate and postgraduate students, to Indigenous Australians and international students.
External scholarships and grants
There are a number of external organisations which offer scholarships to students in the areas of nursing and midwifery. You can view these by organisation.
Details: The Hoc Mai Foundation offers scholarships to nursing pre-registration students to undertake a clinical placement at HaNoi, Viet Nam.
For: Students enrolled in the Master of Nursing (Graduate Entry) and combined degrees (year 3 and 4 only).
Value: The Hoc Mai Foundation will contribute toward expenses including return airfare, accommodation and other costs during the stay.
Duration: The four-week scholarship period will be 5–31 December 2013 (including Christmas).
Application: There is no application form for this scholarship. The application consists of:
- Resume with a recent photo embedded in the document
- Two letters of reference (one from a clinical tutor from Sydney Nursing School)
- Essay – What I would like to learn about healthcare delivery in Viet Nam and how I plan to do it in less than 1000 words
- Vaccination records as per Ministry of Health policy
Application date: Open 7 August and close 21 August, COB. Interviews will be held on Wednesday 28 August.
An Information Session will be held on Wednesday 31 July from 12pm in C3.01.
