Sydney Nursing School scholarships are in the main, based on merit. All students will be eligible for consideration, and your academic results will be accessed at the beginning of Semester 1 each year, to determine the successful scholarship recipients.
ARC Linkage Project Grant
Two 3-year PhD scholarships funded by an ARC Linkage Project Grant and collaborating industry partners (the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and the NSW Health Professionals Council Authority (HPCA)) are available to students of the Faculty of Law, Medicine, Health Sciences and Nursing, as part of a large study undertaking a comparative analysis of complaints procedures against five health practitioner groups: medicine, nursing and midwifery, dentistry, psychology and pharmacy in New South Wales and the national scheme. Closing date 15 May 2012.
Walter and Eliza Hall Scholarship in Nursing
The Walter & Eliza Hall Scholarship in Nursing is open for 2012. This scholarship is for currently enrolled students who have successfully completed their first and/or second year of study (ie at least 48 credit points) in the Master of Nursing (Graduate Entry) or combined degree programs at the University of Sydney and who can demonstrate financial disadvantage. In order to be eligible, applicants must also be in continuing full-time study in a Commonwealth Supported Place (HECS liable) and be an Australian citizen.
Value: $6000 for one year only

Women’s Plans Foundation Scholarship Award
For currently enrolled nursing students in 2012 with a demonstrated interest in reproductive health who have an understanding of the role of family planning in women’s development in third world countries.
Value: $1000
