The Armin Roth Scholarship in Dentistry

Background:

Established in 2017, this Scholarship has been generously donated by the Trustee for the Henry Schein Regional Trust to assist students enrolled in the Sydney Dental School at the University of Sydney.

Open to:

Applicants must be currently enrolled in one of the following:

a. Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) program, or

b. Bachelor of Oral Health Program (BOH).

Applicants must have completed at least one year of their eligible degree program.

Value:

The Scholarship is valued at $6,000 and is tenable for one year only.

The amount will be paid as a one-off payment after the relevant census date.

The Dr. Lawrence F. Smith Scholarship for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Students in Dentistry

Background:

Established in 2016, this Scholarship has been generously donated by Dr Lawrence F Smith to assist an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander student studying in the area of dentistry at the University of Sydney.

This Scholarship has been established by Dr Lawrence F Smith.

Open to: Applicants must have an unconditional offer of admission or be currently enrolled full-time in one of the following degrees:

a. Doctor of Dental Medicine, or
b. Bachelor of Oral Health.

Applicants must be of Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate financial need.
Value:

The Scholarship is valued at $6,000 per annum and is tenable for one year only. 

The Scholarship annual value will be paid in two equal instalments after the census date of each semester.

The Judith and Dr Mario Adamo Implant Innovation Scholarship

Background:

Established in 2016 by Mrs Judith and Dr Mario Adamo, this Scholarship aims to encourage research in implant dentistry to further understand issues associated with implantology including osseointegration, stability and retention of implants, and reduce implant failure and infections.

Open to:

Applicants must be currently enrolled in the Sydney Dental School at the University of Sydney in one of the following courses:

a. Doctor of Dental Medicine,
b. Graduate Diploma in Dentistry (Oral Implants), or
c. Doctor of Clinical Dentistry.

Applicants must be undertaking research into areas associated with implantology.

Value:

The Scholarship is valued at $6,000 per annum and tenable for one year.

The Scholarship will be paid in two equal instalments after the census date of each semester.

G.S. Caird Scholarship in Dentistry

Background: Established by a donation from Elizabeth Richardson Caird in commemoration of her late father, Mr G. S. Caird, this Scholarship assists students studying at the Sydney Dental School.
Open to: Applicants must be either:

a. currently enrolled full-time in the first, second, or third year of the Doctor of Dental Medicine at the University of Sydney, or
b. currently enrolled full-time in the first or second year of the Bachelor of Oral Health at the University of Sydney.
Value: The Scholarship is valued at $2,500 and is tenable for one year only. 

The Scholarship annual value will be paid as a one-off payment.

The A-Dec Australia Scholarship in Dentistry

Background:

The A-dec Australia Scholarship in Dentistry was generously donated by A-dec Australia to assist first year dental students with their studies at the University of Sydney.

Open to: Applicants must be currently enrolled in the first year in one of the following: 

a. Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) program, or
b. Bachelor of Oral Health (BOH).
Value: The Scholarship is valued at $10,000 as a one off payment.

The Ronald Ettinger Scholarship

Background:

This Scholarship was established in 2017 to support a scholarly project in Geriatric Dentistry or Special Care Dentistry, with particular emphasis on ‘Putting the Mouth into Health.’ The project may include, but is not limited to, innovation in education or research.

This Scholarship has been established by Emeritus Professor Ronald Ettinger.

Open to:

Applicants must have an unconditional offer of admission or be currently enrolled full-time in a coursework program in the Sydney Dental School.

Applicants must be willing to undertake a scholarly project in geriatric or special care dentistry, with particular emphasis on ‘Putting the Mouth into Health.’

Value:

The Scholarship is valued at $6,500 per annum and is tenable for one year only.

The Scholarship annual value will be paid in one instalment after the relevant census date.

Walter John Douglas Partridge Memorial Scholarship

Background:

This Scholarship was established in 2019 in memory of W.J.D Partridge, to provide financial assistance to students enrolled in the University of Sydney School of Dentistry.

Open to:

Applicants must be currently enrolled full-time in the third year of the Doctor of Dental Medicine at the University of Sydney.

Value:

The Scholarship is valued at $750 and is tenable for one year only.

Application Information: There is no separate application required for this  Scholarship.
   The Scholarship will automatically be awarded in April each year to the student with the hightest Annual Average Mark (AAM) at the end of the second year of the Doctor of Dental Medicine.
