Lifespan Oral Health Postgraduate Research Scholarship

Background:

This Scholarship has been established to provide financial assistance to a PhD student who is undertaking research in lifespan oral health.
 Open to: 1. The Scholarship is offered subject to the applicant having an unconditional offer of admission to study full-time in a PhD within the Sydney Dental School, Faculty of Medicine and Health at the University of Sydney.
  2. Applicants must be willing to conduct research into lifespan oral health.
 

3. Applicants must also hold at least one of the following:

 
  • an Honours degree (First Class or Second Class Upper) or equivalent in a relevant discipline, or
  • Masters degree with a substantial research component.
 

4. Applicants must apply for external funded scholarships every year.

 

5. Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, New Zealand Citizen, or Australian Permanent Resident.

Value and Duration:

The Scholarship will provide a stipend allowance equivalent to the minimum Research Training Program (RTP) Stipend rate (indexed on 1 January each year) for up 3 years, subject to satisfactory academic performance.

 

A successful recipient may apply for an extension of up to 6 months.

Colgate-Palmolive Postgraduate Scholarship

Background:

A unique opportunity is available for an outstanding PhD scholar in the area of Population Oral Health.

This scholarship was established in 2006 by a donation from Colgate-Palmolive Pty Limited to the Faculty of Dentistry.

Open to:

1. This scholarship is offered subject to the applicant having an unconditional offer of admission or currently enrolled in a PhD in the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Sydney.

2. Applicant must be a dental graduate from a recognised University.

3. Applicants must be undertaking research in the field of Population Oral Health.

4. Applicants must have a research proposal that will complement the Faculty's existing research interests and resources.

5. Applicants must be willing to have their scholarship application and research proposal discussed with Colgate-Palmolive by the Faculty of Dentistry.

Value & Duration:

The scholarship will provide an annual stipend allowance of $25,000 per annum for up to three years, subject to satisfactory academic performance. The recipient may apply for an extension of up to 6 months.
