Materials Synthesis & Characterisation

The Molecular Materials group has access to some of the most advanced characterisation facilities in Australia, allowing us to probe the nature and properties of the materials we synthesise.

  • ASAP2020 Gas Sorption Analyser
0-1 atm, variable temperature up to 1000 oC, He, Ar, N2, H2, CO2.
  • 3Flex Surface Characterisation Analyser
    0-1 atm, variable temperature up to 1000 oC, He, Ar, N2, O2, H2, CH4, CO2.
  • IGA Gravimetric Sorption Analyser (Gas + Vapour)
0-15 atm, variable temperature up to 1000 oC, He, Ar, N2, O2, H2, CH4, CO2, variety of solvents
  • Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA) and Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC)
  • Powder X-Ray Diffraction
PANalytical X'Pert Cu source with Variable temperature capilary (100-400 K), flat plate and oven stages (RT-1000 K).
