The ISS: Inspiring Students For Over 50 Years

The Professor Harry Messel International Science School (the ISS) is a visionary event created for talented senior high school science students. The two-week fully residential program is offered totally free of charge by the School of Physics through the Physics Foundation, which was established in 1954 and is dedicated to the pursuit of academic excellence. The ISS has been held on the University of Sydney campus since it began more than 50 years ago, back in 1962.

The ISS has its own site for all the latest news on the International Science School, as well as our history, information on how to support the program, our contact details, the alumni pages, and archives from all past ISS events .

"This program is truly incredible and life changing. My perspective on the world around us feels like it has changed with the things I learnt over the two weeks. I have made some amazing life long friends and have had the most exciting and wonderful time here at the ISS."
