Research Project

There is currently a lack of published information on the prevalence, treatment and prognosis of disorders in Australian dogs and cats seen in general practice. My project aims to build an evidence-base of primary-care companion animal knowledge. The project involves the establishment of a data collection system to collect electronic patient records (EPRs) from primary-care companion animal practices in Australia and the subsequent use of these records to develop demographic statistics and disease prevalence information on Australian cats and dogs. The system is called VetCompass Australia and is being developed in collaboration with the Royal Veterinary College, UK and VetCompass.
