DVM Graduate Entry Requirements
Admission to the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine is based on the following criteria:
- Grade Point Average (GPA) from a completed Bachelor's degree, minimum credit average required*
- Successful completion of pre-requisite units
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Admission Statement including a minimum of 28 days of relevant work experience and animal handling experience, using the DVM Supplementary Application form available for download from this website
- Demonstration of English language proficiency (University of Sydney English requirements)

*These are the minimum admission requirements for the DVM. As entry to this course is highly competitive, students who meet the minimum requirements are then ranked according to academic performance and admission statement.
International Applications for 2016 DVM are now open and close on 4th January 2016.
Please note that a strict quota applies to the DVM and international places may be filled prior to the closing deadline. International applicants are advised to lodge an application early to avoid disappointment.

DVM Scholarships for Domestic Applicants
The Swan Family Scholarship
Starting in 2015, the Swan Family Scholarship is for an outstanding student from a rural area to study in the DVM program in the Faculty of Veterinary Science at the University of Sydney. This scholarship will provide the successful candidate with $6,000 per year for each year of the DVM program ($24,000 in total).

The Dr John Holt Scholarship
Starting in 2015, this scholarship is for the support of an outstanding student who is committee to animal welfare to study in the DVM program in the Faculty of Veterinary Science at the University of Sydney. This scholarship will provide the successful candidate with $6,000 per year for each year of the DVM program ($24,000 in total).
