The institute submitted a response to the Australian Capital Territory discussion paper on the dispensation of with parental consent in out-of-home care open adoption in March 2019.
The NSW Their Futures Matter program has completed an evidence review for the access system redesign. A discussion paper has been released for the review of the access system and the Institute has prepared a submission that focuses on the need for better evidence on the impact of policy and service reforms targeting vulnerable children and their families. There is an urgent need for investment in research able to capture the impact of the redesign process on children’s outcomes. This would enable future policy and practice to be grounded in relevant local evidence.
