The Charles Perkins Centre is proud to offer a unique opportunity for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students who are interested in conducting research that will contribute to the understanding, management, or prevention of chronic health issues prevalent in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
Undergraduate and postgraduate coursework students who demonstrate a keen interest in research will be supported to develop their own research project or work with supervisors on existing projects. Over eight weeks of paid research, students will develop research skills, gain experience and contribute to finding real world solutions.
The Charles Perkins Centre has supported short-term student research programs for over seven years. Over this time our programs have fostered more than 70 students from across the University.
This program has been made possible thanks to the generosity of Dr Virginia Hood.
