Our Biosecurity specialisation examines emerging threats posed by infectious diseases and bioterrorism could have dramatic implications on diverse cohorts of the population, labour supply and productivity, and the broader economy.
Graduate opportunities
As a graduate of the Biosecurity specialisation, you can pursue a career as a health systems professional or biosecurity analyst, employing computational forecasting tools in predicting and estimating epidemic dynamics, and quantifying effectiveness of prevention, mitigation and management of socio-economic, socio-ecological and national security crises, verified across different outbreak sizes and demographics.
You will have the technical skills and knowledge to policy advice and analysis, leading to the improved quality of prevention and containment strategies used in both public and private sector within key industries, supply chains, national and international centres for disease control.
Other career possibilities lie in modern systems biology and biotechnology.
