Specialisation

Our Thermofluids specialisation will provide you with the fundamental skills and knowledge in thermodynamics, heat transfer and fluid mechanics so you can thrive in rapidly evolving industry sectors that demand high levels of thermofluid-related skills such as energy and transport.

This specialisation also offers advanced thermofluids courses that will enable you to contribute to complex socio-environmental problems ranging from bushfires through to predicting and managing algal blooms, salinity and outflows from rivers and water bodies.

Graduate opportunities

As a graduate of our Thermofluids specialisation, you will have the technical skills to succeed in a broad range of industries that require thermofluids expertise, including the rapidly developing renewable energy sector and mature industries such as building services and governmental and regulatory bodies.

You may wish to pursue a career in the energy generation sector, the renewable energy sector, automotive, marine and aerospace-related industries, clean combustion technologies, environmental fluid mechanics, heating ventilation, air conditioning and fire control.

You also have the option to pursue further research by working in government laboratories or undertaking product development for industry.
