Rural scholarship valued at $24,000 per annum now open
Our J Alan Gibson Scholarship is open to prospective undergraduate students from a rural background wanting to study engineering, computer science or project management at the University of Sydney.

The Faculty of Engineering’s J Alan Gibson Scholarship is designed to support rural prospective undergraduate students interested in studying engineering, computer science or project management with us in 2020.

The scholarship is funded by the Estate of Elizabeth Jamieson Gibson and valued at $24,000 per annum tenable for up to four years.

It’s open to all applicants who have recently left school, can demonstrate financial need and hail from an outer regional, remote or very remote area as classified by the Australian Statistical Geography Standard.

Application submissions close on Sunday, 1 December at 11.59PM.

To be eligible to apply, you will need to be a recent school leaver with a residual address that is classified as outer regional, remote or very remote as classified by the Australian Statistical Geography Standard

Academic merit will be based on your performance in the NSW HSC (or equivalent) and you must be able to demonstrate financial need.

The scholarship will be awarded on the nomination of a selection committee consisting of the Associate Dean (Education), or their nominee.
