The start of the Vietnam War in 1962. A very different kind of war. Medical evacuation meant that casualties were treated quickly in hospital then flown back to Australia to military hospitals. Were teaching hospitals involved or did the work go through the military hospitals. However, some of our grads, prof fletcher for one did military work – surgery on casualties here in Bankstown.
