What to expect when you visit Sydney Conservatorium of Music
Before you join us for one of our spectacular concerts, recitals, operas or musicals, find out how to secure your tickets, plan your visit, and ensure an enjoyable experience with us.

Online

Booking through our box office website provides you with 24/7 access to tickets. Simply select your event on the box office and follow the prompts to purchase.

In person

Our box office is located in the Level 3 Foyer and is open to the public from 10am-4pm Monday to Friday and one hour prior to SCM ticketed events.

Please note at this time, SCM does not offer phone bookings.

*Other institutions and groups present concerts at the Conservatorium and may have their own ticketing arrangements. Please read the event listing on our box office website for more information.

Depending on the performance, concession tickets may be available for events presented at SCM. Please check the event page to see what discounts may be available for your event.  If you purchase one of these concessions, please be prepared to present valid ID if requested by our staff.  


Concessions accepted

Australian Seniors Card, Pensioner Concession Card (excluding Health Care Cards), Veterans Affairs Card, Carers and all current High School and Tertiary institution ID cards.

USYD Staff and Students 

For most concerts at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music (excluding Con Opera, Sydney Con Jazz Festival, events by external presenters and other large special events), unsold tickets will be available to University of Sydney staff and students one hour before the event starts. Students can request one ticket, while staff can request two tickets. Complimentary tickets can be obtained by presenting a valid USYD student or staff ID card.

NSW Companion Card

Sydney Conservatorium of Music accepts Companion Cards for all events. Please contact our box office team via email or phone for assistance with your booking.

All ticket purchases are non-refundable except in the instance that the event is cancelled or rescheduled. The Sydney Conservatorium of Music operates under the Live Performance Australia (LPA) Ticketing Code of Practice. In accordance with the LPA Ticketing Code of Practice ticket holders are not entitled to an exchange or refund for:

  • Lost, stolen, damaged or destroyed tickets.
  • Change of mind
  • Change in personal circumstances.
  • Event dissatisfaction
  • Failure or inability to attend event
  • Late attendance

 

Exchanges may be available for events with several performances or reserved seating. An exchange fee of $3.00 per ticket applies in all cases, including moving seat allocation for the same event. Conditions under which a ticket may be exchanged:

  • Tickets can be exchanged up to 48 hours before your performance date.
  • Tickets can only be exchanged for a different performance of the same production/event or different seats for the same event.
  • All exchanges are subject to ticket availability. Tickets cannot be exchanged for sold out events.
  • We do not provide partial refunds if the new tickets are cheaper than the original ones.

The health and wellbeing of our students, patrons and staff is our highest priority. Before attending an event at SCM, please take note of the following safety measures:

  • For the safety of all our patrons, please do not attend if you are COVID-19 positive, feeling unwell with COVID-19 symptoms or are required to isolate or quarantine by NSW Health. Please contact Box Office if you are unable to attend.
  • Face masks are strongly recommended for all patrons over 12 while inside our venues and during the performance. Please bring your own face mask.
  • While in our venues, please practice social distancing where possible, observe good hygiene practices and use contactless payments where possible.
  • Our concert venues are operating at 100% capacity. Seating will not be socially distanced, and you may be seated next to other booking groups.
  • A strict lock-out policy between pieces will be enforced, and in some cases guests who arrive late may not be permitted at all. Please make sure to arrive
  • Please remain in your allocated seat throughout the performance. If you have any questions, please ask one of our Front of House staff.
  1. The right of admission is reserved by the venue's management. Latecomers may not be admitted until a suitable break in the program, if any, or at interval. 
  2. The Sydney Conservatorium of Music operates under the Live Performance Australia (LPA) Ticketing Code of Practice. Refunds or exchanges for performance tickets are not permitted except as outlined in this code. 
  3. The use of cameras and other recording devices in the performance venues is strictly prohibited. 
  4. No food or beverage may be consumed in the performance venues with the exception of bottled water. 
  5. All mobile phones, pagers and other electronic devices must be turned off before entering the performance venue. The use of cameras or other recording devices and equipment constitutes a breach of copyright and is strictly prohibited. 
  6. Patrons who are disruptive during a performance may be asked to leave without refund of ticket purchase. 
  7. The Sydney Conservatorium of Music reserves the right to: vary advertised programmes and add, withdraw or substitute as necessary, vary seating arrangements, and refuse admission with reasonable cause. 
  8. Unauthorised duplication of your ticket/s may prevent your admittance to the event. In the event that duplicate copies appear, the Sydney Conservatorium of Music reserves the right to refuse entry to ALL ticket holders.

There is no public parking available onsite.

Patrons with a Mobility Parking Permit can enjoy free parking for a certain period of time in designated parking zones. This applies to parking zones with meters or ticket machines, the closest to the Conservatorium being Macquarie Street.

Free accessible parking for Mobility Parking Permits apply for the following periods of time:

  • An unlimited amount of time in parking zones of more than 30 minutes
  • Up to 2 hours in parking zones of 30 minutes
  • Up to 30 minutes in 5 minute parking zones
