Novel cold plasma technologies offer a green chemistry approach for applications in agriculture, food safety, water purification, cancer treatment, materials processing and energy generation. The aim is to reduce our traditional reliance on the chemicals currently used in products such as fertilisers, disinfectants and antibiotics. These research opportunities study the development, characterisation and interaction of plasma species with matter such as microbial cells or contaminants or as novel energy inputs for catalytic reactions.
