Are you interested in the ethical or social implications of health, biomedical research or population health? Would you like to work with internationally recognised scholars who tackle complex issues in public health, emerging (bio)technologies, big data, structural inequalities in health, care for older people, or the health humanities? Sydney Health Ethics academics offers this, and much more. You’ll have access to a large team of passionate academics, whose work draws on a variety of methods: philosophical bioethics, empirical bioethics, health humanities and qualitative health research.

Synopsis

Sydney Health Ethics is one of Australia's leading bioethics groups - providing opportunities for students to pursue postgraduate research and coursework studies in bioethics. Since its inception in 1997 as the Centre for Values, Ethics and the Law in Medicine - Sydney Health Ethics has trained scholars in interdisciplinary approaches in bioethics, the health humanities and qualitative research in health. Our graduates have gone on to academic careers, roles in government, positions in industry or work with NGOs.
