Who's eligible

You must:

  • be enrolled in the Bachelor of Advanced Studies
  • have completed the units of study BUSS4907 and BUSS4908 in the previous semester
  • be enrolled in the unit of study BUSS4909: Startup Project.

Background

The scholarship has been established by the University of Sydney Business School to support the students who are enrolled in the start-up accelerator program.

1. Background

a. The BUSS4909 Startup Project Scholarship has been established by the University of Sydney Business School to support the students who are enrolled in the start-up accelerator program.

2. Eligibility

a. Applicants must be enrolled in the Bachelor of Advanced Studies.

b. Applicants must have completed the units of study BUSS4907 and BUSS4908 in the previous semester.

c. Applicants must be enrolled in the unit of study BUSS4909: Startup Project.

3. Selection Criteria

a. The Scholarship will be awarded on merit based on the recipient’s average mark for BUSS4907 and BUSS4908.

b. The Scholarship will be awarded by a selection committee consisting of the Head of Discipline of Strategy, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, or their nominee, and at least one other academic staff member in the Discipline.

4. Value

a. The Scholarship is valued at up to $5,000 and is paid as a one-off payment after the census date. 

b. Deferral of the Scholarship is not permitted. 

c. The Scholarship will be offered subject to the availability of funds.

d. No other amount is payable.

5. Ongoing eligibility

a. The recipient must remain enrolled in their degree and in the unit of study BUSS4909 during the tenure of this Scholarship.

6. Termination

a. The Scholarship will be terminated if the recipient:

I. withdraws from the unit of study BUSS4909 or fails to enrol,

II. withdraws from the startup project or fails to enrol,

III. is determined by the University to be guilty of serious misconduct, including, but not limited to, having provided false or misleading information as part of their Scholarship application, 

IV. does not resume study at the end of a period of approved leave, or

V. any other provision as indicated in these terms that would lead to termination.

b. Once the Scholarship has been terminated, it will not be reinstated unless due to University error.  

c. Where a student is found guilty of serious misconduct or the Scholarship is terminated under any instance in the Termination Clause of these terms and conditions, the University reserves the right to request that any Scholarship funds paid to the Scholarship recipient be reimbursed.
