This scholarship was established in 2022 to support students studying Doctor of Dental Medicine at the University of Sydney School of Dentistry to undertake research activities.
This scholarship has been donated by Colgate-Palmolive Pty Ltd, and it’s referred to as the “Colgate Research Scholarship”.
1. Background
a. This Scholarship was established in 2022 to support students studying Doctor of Dental Medicine at the University of Sydney School of Dentistry to undertake research activities.
b. This Scholarship has been donated by Colgate-Palmolive Pty Ltd, and it’s referred to as the “Colgate Research Scholarship”.
2. Eligibility
a. Applicants must be enrolled full-time in Doctor of Dental Medicine at the University of Sydney School of Dentistry, at the semester of scholarship application submitted.
b. Applicants must have received acceptance of:
I. a publication, or
II. an abstract for an oral or poster presentation at a conference.
3. Selection Criteria
a. The Scholarship will be awarded on the basis of the quality and impact of the output.
b. The Scholarship will be awarded by the Head of School and Dean, Sydney School of Dentistry, or their nominated delegate(s).
4. Value
a. The Scholarship is valued at up to $2,500.
b. The exact Scholarship value will be stipulated in the Scholarship Offer Letter and will be paid as a one-off payment.
c. The Scholarship will provide funds for the following:
I. publication costs for high-quality journal only, or
II. conference costs for conference registrations only.
d. The Scholarship will not provide funds for conference traveling costs.
e. Deferral and/or suspension of the Scholarship is not permitted.
f. The scholarship cannot be transferred to another University school, faculty or university.
g. The Scholarship will be offered subject to the availability of funds.
h. No other amount is payable.
5. Ongoing Eligibility
a. None apply.
6. Termination
a. The Scholarship will be terminated if the recipient:
I. withdraws from an eligible course or fails to enrol,
II. commences part-time study, or
III. is determined by the University to be guilty of serious misconduct, including, but not limited to, having provided false or misleading information as part of their Scholarship application.
b. Once the Scholarship has been terminated, it will not be reinstated unless due to University error.
c. Where a student is found guilty of serious misconduct or the Scholarship is terminated under any instance in the Termination Clause of these terms and conditions, the University reserves the right to request that any Scholarship funds paid to the Scholarship recipient be reimbursed.
