Project title: Platinum-anthraquinone complexes as anti-tumour agents.
Research emphasis: To synthesise and compile a library of platinum-anthraquinone complexes with different tumour penetration enhancing properties, and testing them in cells and tumour spheroid models.
Presented an oral presentation at the Asian Biological Inorganic Chemistry Conference, 2009, in Jeju Island, Korea on ‘Platinum-Anthraquinone Complexes and their Uptake in Cancer Cells and Solid Tumour Models’
Organised the student symposium ‘Discussions Regarding Sydney Postgraduates of Chemistry (DRSPOC)’ for the School of Chemistry, The University of Sydney, for both 2007 and 2008.
Completed a Bachelor of Science (Advanced) degree, graduating with Honours Class I.

E Experienced researcher in biological studies, with training in monolayer cellular and multilayered spheroid subculturing techniques, subcellular fractionation, genomic and plasmid DNA extractions, light and confocal fluorescence microscopy and various enzymic assays.
Proficient user of Microsoft Office, especially in Word, Excel and Powerpoint; Chemdraw; Endnote; and several confocal microscopy imaging programs, such as Image J and Confocal Assisstant. Also experienced with writing macros to automate processes.
