As we approach the end of the year, the Sydney Policy Lab has taken a moment to draw together the highlights of a big 2024 (pdf, 5MB).
They include championing person-centred reform in care policy, putting the outside-school-hours landscape on the agenda and experimenting with ways of disagreeing on campus in times of heightened conflict – that’s just scratching the surface. I invite you to spend time with the projects and collaborations, and consider how you can get involved.
As director of the Lab, it’s a privilege to be a part of our community-centred, multidisciplinary policymaking and work in deep collaboration with the community members, researchers, civil society and governments partners that make it all possible. A big thank you to everyone who has been a part of making 2024 such a success.
In Australia’s policy ecosystem, the Lab’s approach is unique, timely and offers real prospects for impact. Especially as we enter times of greater complexity and uncertainty.
In Australia’s policy ecosystem, the Lab’s approach is unique, timely and offers real prospects for impact. Especially as we enter times of greater complexity and uncertainty. Our multidisciplinary work in deep partnership with communities supports the University to lead on complex policy challenges at the top of the public agenda. In 2025, the Policy Lab will continue to take every chance to build trust with communities and, together, create policy influence and impact.
We are always open to new and unexpected partnerships that have the potential to transform lives and change the way policy is made. We invite you to get involved.
Warmest regards,
Kate
