As the internet and digital technology play an increasingly important role in all aspects of social, cultural and economic life, they raise many novel and pressing issues for global societies to consider and address. This unit explores policy and governance of digital technology and cultures – and investigates the emergent politics, publics, and debates in the struggle to develop new information architectures and digital ecosystems, at international, national, and local levels.
